About the Costa del Sol

Where is the Costa del Sol?
The Costa del Sol is the coastline of Málaga province in southern Spain, running from Manilva in the west to Nerja in the east along the Mediterranean. The main gateway is Málaga airport (AGP); from there the AP-7 motorway connects every coastal town within 90 minutes.
Which towns are on the Costa del Sol map?
Our map covers all 15 towns we publish guides for: Málaga, Marbella, Estepona, Fuengirola, Benalmádena, Torremolinos, Antequera, Mijas, Nerja, Ronda, Casares, Cómpeta, Frigiliana, Júzcar and Setenil de las Bodegas. Click any pin or town card below to open that town's guide with beaches, restaurants and local businesses.
How long is the Costa del Sol coast?
About 150 kilometres of Mediterranean coastline along the southern edge of Málaga province. Driving the AP-7 motorway end to end takes roughly 2 hours without stops, less than that off-season.
What is the best way to get around the Costa del Sol?
For 1-3 day visits, pre-booked transfers between Málaga airport and your town are usually cheapest. For longer stays, a rental car gives access to mountain villages, viewpoints and quieter beaches. The C1 cercanías train links Málaga to Fuengirola via the airport and is fast and cheap on the western strip.
